Built in 1929, this project was in need of extensive renovations. The interior of the home has undergone significant design updates, with an emphasis on altering the scale and flow of several central living areas. In our design program, the family living room, previously a two story cathedral space, was replaced with an additional ceiling adding improvements to the scale of the room, additionally providing the function of additional storage above. A new primary suite was relocated to the opposite end of the house. To unify the design, a rear stair was added off the kitchen, becoming a central element that shapes the flow and circulation of the home’s core.
A revived entry included the design of a new vestibule and new marble flooring. Thoughtful continuity of additional light, seamlessly integrated with the existing millwork.
Another significant update was the integration of a new geothermal mechanical system throughout the building. The design team collaborated closely with the builder to ensure a seamless transition, prioritizing efficiency while keeping the system’s installation discreet and unobtrusive.
