Ashwood Run is inspired from a pavilion at Blackberry Farm in Tennessee. This is a space where you spend time with friends, sitting around a roaring fire while delicious food is prepared – a perfect winter entertainment space. This structure was primarily thought of as an open- air pavilion that could be enclosed by using accordion style doors, so the transparency remained, but the warmth would stay in. The space surrounds a fireplace on two sides and the front. Directly behind the fireplace is the kitchen and the bathroom. There is a loft above the main living level which is above the bathroom and the kitchen creating the feeling of being in a treehouse. There is access through a ship’s ladder to this wonderful, small space where one can gaze into the woods.
