Situated on a secluded bluff with spectacular panoramic views, this design for a new house is an expression of our clients’ desire to balance traditional and contemporary styles. Drawing inspiration from local and regional archetypes such as rustic mining structures, ancient Anasazi pueblo dwellings, and Southwestern forms, this project features main-level living spaces with expanses of glass organized to take advantage of the surrounding landscape. As you circulate through the house, each room reveals a new vista toward the outdoors. The lower-level spaces include guest bedrooms with views and direct access to the exterior. The design features natural stone, boulders, and timber sourced directly from the house site. The house’s careful placement on the site is a deliberate attempt to integrate architecture into its surroundings and create a tranquil place for our clients to live and entertain with family and friends.
