Perched at the center of the site, overlooking the mature landscape and sweeping views to the valley stream and ponds below, this house fit the needs of the clients who wished to live less formally upon moving from the city into the countryside.
Particular attention was paid to a more intimate, less imposing, scale. The house utilizes stone selected for its unique characteristics fitting to the local vernacular of country farm houses of earlier centuries.
Large, windowed rooms were situated around the house to take advantage of both the long views into the landscape and more intimate glimpses toward the greenhouse and its surrounding gardens.
A 3-car garage with studio above was nestled into the natural hillside which helps frame a parking court and disguise it from the main entrance.
