The site on which this carriage house stood was a fairly constrained site. There was a tremendous amount of impervious coverage allowed on the property. We had to remove the tennis court to allow for additions, terraces, a pool and pool house and gardens. The driveway was relocated to enhance the overall experience of entry.
Particular attention was paid to the architectural millwork. The formal entrance, stair hall, dining room, library, family entrance, powder room and coat area all have detailed, custom millwork. There is also elaborate built in millwork for the master dressing rooms.
The lower level of the house was recaptured and designed in such a way that it is fully integrated in the house without feeling like you have entered a subterranean space. From this level there is direct access to the lower gardens.
